Welcome to the Triangle Bird Count! We are currently recruiting volunteers throughout North Carolina’s Research Triangle region to being counting in mid-March 2018. We would love to have your help. In fact, we can’t succeed without it!
How do the kinds of birds — and their numbers — vary across time and space? What features of the region’s cities influence bird distribution or abundance? Do these features vary by city?
These are just a few questions we can only answer with many people collecting data across a wide variety of urban habitats. Some citizen science projects focus on places where birds are already thought to be abundant (such as parks), but by using a systematic approach, we will collect data across entire cities, including places that are usually overlooked. We might find some cool birds in surprising places — will you help us?
